Welcome to Matcha Kudasai

Matcha Kudasai first began as part of Yorokobi, our Japanese tableware and lifestyle store. As our love for matcha grew, we created a dedicated space for our matcha, hojicha, café wholesale, weddings, events and pop-ups.

This is now the main home for Matcha Kudasai.

Why are you moving from tins to pouches?

We’re slowly transitioning to pouch packaging because it is simpler, lighter and more flexible for us as a small business. It also allows customers to refill their own containers at home instead of receiving a new tin each time.

Is the matcha the same?

Yes. The tea inside is the same. Only the packaging format is changing.

Are NIME and TSUGI coming back?

NIME and TSUGI are retiring after this batch as we simplify our range. They won’t be restocked in the same form.

Will you sell tins again?

We’re working on introducing a reusable stainless steel tin option in the future for customers who prefer storing their matcha in a tin. This will be sold separately once it’s ready.

How should I store the pouch?

Our 30g refill pouches are not resealable, so we recommend transferring the tea into a tin or airtight container after opening. You can reuse a matcha tin you already have at home, or browse the tea tins in our accessories section. We’re also working on a reusable stainless steel tin option for future storage.

Our 100g matcha and hojicha pouches are resealable, so you can keep the tea in the pouch and close it tightly after each use.

For best freshness, store away from heat, light and moisture. After opening, we recommend keeping it sealed and stored in the fridge.

A Love for Good Matcha

Matcha Kudasai started from something very simple, my own love for matcha.

After trying teas from different regions, I found myself drawn to matcha from Kyushu, especially Yame.
