A rare and delicate expression of houjicha from Hoshino Village in Yame, Fukuoka.
This tea is made from Hakuhou, an unusual Japanese white-leaf tea known for its naturally pale leaves. The tea material is gently roasted to develop warmth and sweetness while preserving its refined character.
Unlike a deeply roasted, smoky houjicha, this tea is light and balanced. Its mild toastiness is accompanied by warm grain, roasted nuts and a soft caramel-like sweetness, with very little bitterness or astringency.
Tasting notes: Toasted grain · Roasted nuts · Soft caramel · Warm wood
